ADEB Foundation Promotes Healthy Masculinity in Lagos

On June 3, 2023, the ADEB Foundation held an outreach program at Alimosho Junior Grammar School in Lagos, focusing on advocating healthy masculinity among boys. The event, themed "Redefining Masculinity and Mental Health," aimed to engage students in discussions about emotional well-being and challenge harmful stereotypes.

Guest speakers Comrad Abiodun Ajayi and Comrad Elijah Jagbadi emphasized the importance of creating safe spaces for boys to express their feelings without fear of judgment. They noted that societal expectations often pressure boys to appear strong and unemotional, while true strength involves self-awareness and seeking support when needed.

The session included discussions on emotional intelligence, self-esteem, and peer pressure. Mr. Oluyinka Iyanda, representing the education district, commended the initiative as timely and relevant in addressing issues young boys face.

The ADEB Foundation continues to advocate for youth development and aims to equip children with the knowledge and support necessary to thrive, calling on parents and community leaders to pay closer attention to boys' emotional and mental health needs.
