Adebutu Declared Ogun PDP Governorship Candidate

Oladipupo Olatunde Adebutu has been declared the consensus governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State after a primary election held on Sunday in Abeokuta. The primary involved participation from PDP members across 236 wards in the state.

Afolabi Ariyo, the chairman of the Ogun State PDP governorship primary panel, officiated the event and announced Adebutu as the winner through a voice vote. The announcement was attended by notable party leaders, including former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, who congratulated Adebutu and expressed optimism about the PDP's chances in the 2027 governorship election.

Adebutu described his emergence as a historic moment for the party and thanked the party leaders and members for their unanimous endorsement. He emphasized the need for unity within the party to reclaim power in Ogun State, which has been under the control of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a decade.
