PDP Announces Governorship Candidates for 2027 Elections

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties in Nigeria have announced the results of their governorship primaries. Ladipupo Adebutu was declared the PDP candidate for Ogun State during the primaries held at the Kensington Adebutu Hall in Abeokuta.

Adebutu, a former member of the House of Representatives, was the sole candidate and received unanimous support from party members across 236 wards. Yakubu Lado emerged as the PDP candidate for Katsina State, marking his third consecutive election cycle as the party's nominee.

In Kwara State, Kale Kawu was announced as the governorship choice after consultations among party leaders, with Abubakar Bukola Saraki praising Bolaji Gambari for stepping down to support party unity. Mustapha Sule Lamido was declared the PDP candidate for Jigawa State, with the electoral committee confirming the process was conducted in line with the electoral act.
