Adebutu Declared Ogun PDP Governorship Candidate for 2027

Oladipupo Adebutu has been declared the governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for Ogun State in the upcoming 2027 elections. This announcement followed a consensus primary conducted on Sunday in Abeokuta, where party members from 20 local government areas and 236 wards participated.

Afolabi Ariyo, the chairman of the PDP governorship primary committee in Ogun State, confirmed Adebutu's victory after a voice vote affirmed his candidacy. In his acceptance speech, Adebutu praised the party members for their support and urged them to remain steadfast in their determination to unseat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

He criticized the APC for the hardships faced by residents over the past 15 years and expressed confidence in the PDP's ability to provide good governance. The state chairman of the PDP, Abayomi Tella, also called for unity among party members to ensure victory in the upcoming elections.

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose described Adebutu as a capable political leader for Ogun State.
