Nigeria Customs Service Expands Global Trade Partnerships

Adewale Adeniyi, the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), is intensifying efforts to deepen international cooperation and trade relations by expanding structural partnerships with 20 customs administrations worldwide. During a high-level diplomatic cocktail reception in Abuja, attended by ambassadors, high commissioners, heads of missions, and senior government officials, Adeniyi emphasized the importance of international collaboration as a key pillar for improving trade facilitation and strengthening border management.

He expressed appreciation for the support from the diplomatic community in advancing bilateral relations and global trade cooperation. Adeniyi reaffirmed the NCS's commitment to supporting diplomatic missions operating in Nigeria and stressed the necessity of sustained engagement to foster stronger relationships with international partners.

The event aimed to provide a platform for dialogue, identify new areas of cooperation, and enhance the capabilities of customs administrations in addressing emerging trade security challenges while improving revenue generation and economic competitiveness in a rapidly evolving global trade environment.
