Nigeria Customs Service Strengthens Trade Facilitation Efforts

The Nigeria Customs Service, under the leadership of Comptroller General Adewale Adeniyi, has reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating legitimate trade and supporting compliant businesses. This assurance was made during a courtesy visit from Meshack Maichibi, Vice President of Renaissance Africa Energy Limited, at the service headquarters in Abuja.

Adeniyi emphasized the importance of partnership in driving investment and strengthening energy security to support national economic development. He congratulated Renaissance Africa Energy Limited on successfully completing its corporate transition and highlighted the company's strategic growth in managing Nigerian assets.

Adeniyi noted ongoing reforms aimed at improving the business environment, including the rigorous process for the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program, which offers significant benefits to compliant traders. Maichibi stated that Renaissance Africa Energy Limited, which will commence operations in March 2026 following the acquisition of onshore assets from Shell Petroleum Development Company, aims to invest across the oil and gas value chain.
