Guinea-Bissau Stuns Super Eagles with 3-0 AFCON Victory

In a surprising turn of events during the AFCON qualifier, Guinea-Bissau triumphed over Nigeria's Super Eagles with a decisive 3-0 victory at the 24 September Stadium. The match began with Franculino Dju scoring the opener in the 15th minute, curling a shot into the far corner after creating space off left back Bruno Onyemaechi.

Nigeria struggled throughout the match, hampered by a bumpy pitch and their own sloppiness. Mama Balde extended the lead to 2-0 in the 66th minute, dribbling past Bright Osayi-Samuel and slotting the ball past a static goalkeeper, Nwabali.

The final goal came in added time from Alvaro Djalo, who scored on a counter-attack, sealing Guinea-Bissau's biggest win against Nigeria. With this victory, Guinea-Bissau leads Group L with six points, while Nigeria has three points from two matches, with four more matches remaining in the AFCON 2027 qualification campaign.
