AFFC Calls For Open Calls For Emerging Female Filmmakers

The African Female Filmmakers Collective (AFFC) has announced an open call for emerging female filmmakers to apply for a six-week mobile phone storytelling film lab. The program is targeted towards aspiring females aged 18 to 35 without formal filmmaking skills, aiming to sharpen their skills and connect them with fellow creatives.

Selected participants will be trained in filmmaking and collaborate with a team to create a short film using a mobile phone. The program will culminate in a public screening of the films.

Applicants must be passionate about creative storytelling, commit to the full six-week program, and enjoy working in a team. The AFFC Mobile Phone Storytelling Film Lab will run from August 6 to 29, 2025.
