Lagos and Afreximbank Launch Global African Design Tour

Afreximbank and the Lagos State Government are collaborating to launch a global tour aimed at showcasing African design, beginning with Milan Design Week in October 2026. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to position Lagos as a creative capital and enhance its visibility in the global market.

The tour will feature curated works from emerging talents in furniture and product design, including artists such as Athanasiu Johnson, Nicol Adaora Enwonwu, and others. Titi Ogufer, founder of Design Week Lagos, emphasized the importance of this initiative in building a sustainable design economy and connecting local talent with international opportunities.

The Lagos State Government, represented by Toke Benson, is committed to promoting design tourism and cultural exchange, believing that design can drive economic growth. The global tour will extend beyond Milan to London and Paris, ultimately culminating in Lagos, reinforcing the state's vision for a vibrant creative economy.
