Lagos to Host African Women Finance Leadership Summit

The African Women Finance Leadership Summit is set to take place in Lagos, Nigeria, as a precursor to the African Women Bank Finance Awards scheduled for May 8, 2026. The summit aims to recognize and amplify the contributions of women in shaping Africa's financial ecosystem.

It will convene approximately 200 high-value participants, including senior bank executives, policymakers, and leaders from various financial institutions across Nigeria, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Sierra Leone, Egypt, Zambia, and Uganda. The theme of the summit is "Redefining Women's Leadership in African Finance." The awards will spotlight women across diverse categories, including women CEOs, managing directors, and central bank leaders.

The selection process for nominees will adhere to strict international standards, with a global judging panel chaired by Joi Macknight. The initiative aims to empower women and strengthen collaboration across the financial value chain, with a focus on recognizing contributions at all levels of the banking and finance ecosystem.
