Kenyon International's CEO Innovates Nigeria's Energy Sector

Dr. Victor Ekpenyong, the Chief Executive Officer of Kenyon International, is leading a significant transformation in Nigeria's energy sector. He disclosed that the company successfully deployed Nigeria's first flexsteel unbonded flexible pipeline system, which has cut project execution timelines by 80%.

This innovation is crucial as international oil companies (IOCs) divest from onshore and shallow water assets, creating a gap that local firms must fill. The deployment of this technology allows for quicker and more cost-effective resource management, which is essential for maximizing the value of Nigeria's mature oil assets.

The flexsteel technology enables projects to be completed in less than five months, compared to traditional carbon steel pipelines, which can take over a year. This advancement not only saves costs but also reduces the risk of corrosion and leaks.

Ekpenyong emphasized that the projects are entirely managed by indigenous companies, showcasing Nigeria's capability to leverage local expertise in the energy sector.
