AfricaGTC and Energy Ventures Launch Flared Gas Project

Africa Gas Transport Company Limited (AfricaGTC), a Nigerian subsidiary of Dutch clean-energy firm Energy Ventures B.V., is set to implement the FlareOut® project in Nigeria, aimed at capturing and utilizing flared gas. This initiative addresses the environmental and economic challenges posed by gas flaring.

A pilot project will be rolled out at the Agbada-2 site near Port Harcourt, focusing on converting wasted associated gas into usable energy. A team from Energy Ventures will visit Nigeria to engage with executives from the Port Harcourt Distribution Company Limited and officials at the Ministry of Power in Abuja.

Herbert Okibe, Director of AfricaGTC, stated that the goal is to build partnerships that will demonstrate the conversion of flared gas into clean energy and economic benefits for Nigerian communities. Jessica Essien, Managing Director of Afrinvest Capital, emphasized the importance of alerting energy stakeholders and investors to the FlareOut investment opportunity.
