ARISE Women of Impact Award Celebrates African Women

The ARISE Women of Impact Award, held at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, recognized 100 influential African women for their contributions across the continent, including Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and others. Eka Obaigbena, in her opening remarks, emphasized that the award is not merely a date on the calendar but a recognition of the brilliance and sacrifices of African women.

She noted that while women have made significant contributions, their recognition often lags behind. The event featured prominent honorees such as Sophi William de Bruyn, Chioma Stan Ekeh, Adesuwa Rhode Okunbor, and Dr. Ehimwema Ek Aluko, who used their acceptance speeches to call for societal change and the empowerment of women.

Yemi Adamolekun urged Nigerians to reflect on the kind of country they wish to build for future generations. The event underscored the importance of investing in women entrepreneurs and highlighted the critical role women play in transforming society.
