African Women Urged to Embrace Green Economy Potential

The second edition of the Global African Women Sustain Conference took place in Abuja, gathering 5,000 female entrepreneurs from 58 countries to discuss sustainable business opportunities and access to global trade. Ef Ukala, founder of ImpactH Africa, emphasized the importance of African women in the green economy, which is estimated to be worth $5 trillion annually and projected to reach $7 trillion by 2030.

Ukala noted that women are already engaged in sustainable practices, such as regenerative farming and eco-friendly production, but face barriers like regulatory compliance and certification challenges that hinder their full participation in international trade. The conference attracted ten African ministers representing 20 African governments, with pledges to strengthen support for female entrepreneurs.

The theme focused on rethinking, reinvesting, and reintegrating women entrepreneurs as architects of Africa's sustainable future.
