NLC Demands Audit of Nigeria's Power Sector Infrastructure

Following another grid failure in Nigeria, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has demanded a comprehensive audit of the power sector infrastructure and a review of the privatization model. The NLC called on the federal government to redirect funds towards building new generation capacity and revitalizing transmission infrastructure instead of supporting privatized entities.

The NLC emphasized the need for a fundamental review of the privatization model to address the recurring challenges in the power sector. The labor movement highlighted the impact of the power sector failures on the working class in Nigeria.
