BREAKING: NLC Issues 7-Day Strike Notice to FG [DETAILS]

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has issued a 7-day strike notice to the Federal Government demanding the immediate refund of allegedly diverted worker funds from the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF). The NLC also called for the immediate constitution of the Governing Board of the National Pension Commission (PENCOM).

The ultimatum was issued during a Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting presided over by NLC President Comrade Joe Ajaero in Abuja. The NLC accused the government of diverting 40% of employee contributions to the national coffer, breaching the law establishing the NSITF.

The NLC warned of a nationwide strike if their demands are not met within the stipulated timeframe, emphasizing the importance of protecting worker rights and resources. The NLC affirmed that the NSITF belongs to the Nigerian working class and vowed to mobilize legitimate means to ensure worker interests are safeguarded.
