After Dangote Refinery, Video Update Shows Another Nigerian Refinery Ready to Start soon

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) announced that Substation 1 of the Port Harcourt refinery has been energized, marking progress in the facility's rehabilitation project. The NNPC stated that this development will help activate 14 other substations, with a total of 15 required to power the refinery.

Former NNPC Executive Director Alex Ogedengbe mentioned that it would take three months for the refinery to start refining petroleum products once completed. The facility is set to receive electricity from gas turbine generators by 2023.

The NNPC reported that 75% of the work has been completed, with the installation of switchgear panels and other equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and safety. The refinery's Lead Instrumentation Automation Engineer emphasized the critical role of engineers in the project.

This update comes after the recent start of production at the Dangote Refinery, which has been postponed twice.
