NNPC Replies Dangote on Govt Refineries May Never Work Again

NNPC's Group CEO, Bayo Ojulari, responded to Aliko Dangote's statement that government refineries may never work again, emphasizing the government's commitment to restoring the Warri and Kaduna refineries. Ojulari rejected the idea of selling the refineries, stating that reviving them is in Nigeria's best interest.

He acknowledged the need for rehabilitation and technical partnerships to improve the facilities. The Port Harcourt and Warri refineries were briefly reopened last year after being dormant for a decade.

Dangote had invested $18 billion in a refinery that has yet to become operational, leading to calls for privatization from some stakeholders. However, the NNPC remains focused on rehabilitating the government-owned refineries.

BUAR Refinery and Petrochemicals clarified that their refinery construction is on track, despite reports suggesting otherwise.
