NNPC Revamps Port Harcourt Refinery, PETROAN Commends Move

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has initiated repair work on the Port Harcourt Refinery, signaling a shakeup in the country's downstream petroleum industry. The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association (PETROAN) revealed that NNPC has begun the revamping process through an assessment of the plant for potential private sector involvement under the Technical Equity Partnership scheme.

The assessment contract was awarded to UOP, an international firm, to make the refinery functional and viable. PETROAN commended NNPC's CEO, Bayo Ojulari, for this development, emphasizing the importance of engaging technical partners to attract potential investors and ensure operational efficiency in the downstream sector.
