Delta Gov Aide Offers Support to UBA Employee After Incident

Ossai Success, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, publicly offered N500,000 cash support and an ambassadorial deal to a young employee of UBA who went viral for addressing the bank's chairman, Tony Elumelu, by his first name during a graduation ceremony. The offer, made via a Facebook post, includes a complimentary VIP trip to Asaba for the Delta Social Media Summit on August 27, 2026, which features flight tickets, five-star hotel accommodation, and a guided tour of developmental projects in Delta State.

Ossai expressed concern over the excessive backlash the woman faced, stating that while she made a mistake, she deserves support rather than torment. He thanked Elumelu for highlighting the need for respect in society and encouraged anyone who knows the woman to contact him.

The incident, where Elumelu corrected her to address him as "Mr Elumelu" or "TOE," sparked mixed reactions on social media.
