In Kaiama, Kwara State, panic gripped residents as suspected terrorists stormed the Kaiama market, triggering a stampede among traders. This incident occurred shortly after a massacre in the community claimed the lives of at least 162 people.

Despite the deployment of soldiers in the town, the situation escalated rapidly, leading to widespread fear and frustration among residents. Videos circulating on social media captured the tense and chaotic scenes following the scare at the market.

Local authorities, including the Kwara State government, have been criticized for their perceived lack of effective security responses. Efforts to reach the Nigerian Army spokesperson, Anel Onyinyechi Appolonia, and the Chief Press Secretary to the Kwara State Governor, Rafiu Ajakay, for comments were unsuccessful.
