Kwara Residents Flee to Niger After Deadly Terrorist Attack, Leaving 176 Dead

Following a deadly terrorist attack in Woro community, Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State, residents fled to neighboring Niger State. The attack, which occurred over a week, resulted in 176 deaths.

Displaced families abandoned their homes, seeking safety in Niger State. Videos showed residents gathering in Wawa town, Niger State, with many fleeing in vehicles.

Zulqharnain Musa, the Special Assistant Chairman of Kaiama Local Government Area, confirmed the desertion of Woro community after the attack. Despite the presence of military forces, residents remained unwilling to return, citing fears of renewed attacks.

Security forces have been deployed to restore calm, with an army battalion stationed in the affected community.
