After Ribadu, NCC’s Intervention, Diesel Suppliers Resume Supply to MTN, Airtel, Globacom, 9mobile

Following the intervention of the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), diesel suppliers have resumed supplying IHS, a telecom infrastructure firm overseeing base stations for MTN, Airtel, Globacom, and 9mobile. The suspension of strike action by the Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria (NOGASA) was announced after ONSA and NCC intervened to resolve the issue of accumulated debts and blocked supplies.

The President of NOGASA, Bennett Korie, stated that the association decided to call off the industrial action to prevent prolonged disruptions in telecom services for millions of users. The suppliers have been directed to resume business with IHS immediately to make up for lost time.

The resolution was reached after a meeting on August 9, with a seven-day grace period for outstanding issues to be sorted out.
