INEC Schedules Stakeholders’ Meeting Ahead of 2027 Elections

Following the September 28 Supreme Court judgement that restored the authority of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to regulate and supervise political parties, INEC has scheduled a national stakeholders’ meeting for Tuesday in Abuja. Mr. Adedayo Oketola, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, announced that the meeting will also mark 100 days until the 2027 general election.
At the event, INEC will provide updates on election preparations, including the voters’ register, candidate nominations, logistics, and measures to ensure electoral integrity. INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, will address the attendees, which will include political party leaders, security agencies, members of the diplomatic corps, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders.
The meeting will take place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre (BAT-ICC) starting at 10 a.m. and will be broadcast live on national television and streamed on INEC’s social media platforms.
