Aguata Youths Demand Fair Political Representation in Anambra

Youth leaders from Aguata Local Government Area in Anambra State have rejected the 'Emi Lokan' political approach, advocating for competence and fair power rotation. During a meeting held by the Aguata II North Youth Forum, they issued a communique emphasizing the need for balanced political representation across the 11 wards in Aguata II.

The group highlighted that Aguata II currently holds the local government chairmanship and the House of Representatives seat, which they believe perpetuates political imbalance and injustice. They pointed out that Aguata II has held the federal constituency seat for eight consecutive years and called for a redistribution of political opportunities.

The forum proposed a rotational arrangement for local government chairmanship and federal lawmakers beyond the current zone. They stressed the importance of merit and performance in leadership roles and urged political parties to field credible young candidates.

The youth leaders commended Anambra State Governor Charl Chukwuma Soludo for his development initiatives aimed at youth inclusion in governance.
