Vice Admiral Ibas Affirms Fulfillment of Tinubu's Mandate in Rivers State Emergency Rule

Vice Admiral Ibas, the State Administrator of Rivers State, declared that he has fulfilled President Bola Tinubu's mandate as the emergency rule in Rivers State nears its expiration on September 18. The emergency rule was imposed on March 18 due to political instability and security threats.

Ibas restored order and peace, overseeing the recent local government elections. Tinubu appointed Ibas as the sole administrator to restore normalcy, suspending the state governor and deputy.

Ibas, a former Chief of Naval Staff, highlighted the critical intervention taken to meet the presidency's expectations and the people of Rivers State. The emergency measures were a response to prolonged instability and breaches of the constitution in the state.
