Rivers State Administrator Begins Transition from Emergency Rule

Vice Admiral Ekwe Ibas, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, has initiated the process of winding down the emergency rule imposed by President Bola Tinubu. The emergency rule, in place since February 18, was a response to power struggles in the state.

Ibas participated in a church thanksgiving service marking the transition back to democratic governance after recent local government elections. Reflecting on the challenges faced during the emergency rule, Ibas emphasized the need for unity and peace in Rivers State.

He highlighted the progress made towards stability and urged political actors to prioritize the well-being of the people over personal gains.
