Ahmed Sanusi Becomes 35th FCT Police Commissioner

Ahmed Sanusi has assumed office as the 35th Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on March 24, 2026. He succeeds Miller G.

Dantaway, who has been elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police and redeployed strategically. Sanusi's appointment was announced by the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh.

With a career spanning over a decade in the Nigeria Police Force, Sanusi has extensive professional experience, having enlisted as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on May 20, 2000, and commenced his police career at the Niger State Police Command. He has also served in the Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Response Team.

Born on May 20, 1972, in Lokoja, Kogi State, Sanusi is a devout Muslim, happily married, and blessed with children. He urged residents to support the police in maintaining peace, law, and order within the FCT.
