Tijani Fatai Becomes 42nd Lagos CP, Focuses on Security

CP Tijani Fatai officially took over as the 42nd Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, succeeding AIG Olohundar Jimoh, who served from February 18, 2025, to March 26, 2026. CP Fatai's appointment is viewed as a strategic move due to his extensive police background and proven leadership record.

He has a wealth of experience in crime prevention, investigation, and public safety management, having served in various capacities across Nigeria. His career began on June 10, 1994, when he enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force as an Assistant Superintendent of Police.

Prior to his current role, he oversaw security operations in Port Harcourt, focusing on Nigeria's maritime corridor. CP Fatai has held critical leadership positions, including Assistant Commissioner of Police in various commands and has been involved in complex criminal investigations.

He aims to strengthen public trust in the police and enhance inter-agency collaboration for effective law enforcement in Lagos State.
