AIICO Insurance Disburses ₦68.1bn to Retirees in 2025

AIICO Insurance Plc reported that it paid ₦68.1bn in claims and benefits in 2025, supporting more than 28,000 annuitants across Nigeria. This information was shared during the 2026 Annuitants Forum, where the company reaffirmed its commitment to providing regular retirement income.

AIICO pays approximately ₦2.1bn in annuity benefits monthly, totaling about ₦25bn over the past year. The forum, themed “Still More to Live: Embracing Life Beyond Retirement,” included discussions on retirement security and wellbeing.

Executive Director of the Retail Business Division, Gbenga Ilori, emphasized the company's role as a companion to clients beyond just financial transactions. Managing Director and CEO Babatunde Fajemirokun described retirement as a new life phase, highlighting the importance of annuity payments for essential expenses.

Retiree Josephine Igbinedion praised AIICO for timely payments and assistance, while Dimeji Shoji shared positive feedback on the company's communication regarding inflation concerns.
