Nigerian Air Chief Clarifies Presence on Tinubu's Turkey Visit for Defense Strengthening

Air Marshal, the Chief of Air Staff, clarified the Nigerian Air Force's presence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's strategic visit to Ankara, Turkey. The visit aimed to bolster Nigeria's air power, strengthen defense posture, counter terrorism, expand trade ties, and support economic growth.

The delegation engaged with major players in Turkey's defense industry, including Aselsan, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), and Havelsan. The visit was part of efforts to confront Nigeria's security challenges and enhance the nation's defense capabilities.

The Nigerian Air Force spokesperson, Ehimen Ejodam, conveyed that the visit included engagements with senior military officials and visits to key defense industry establishments in Turkey. General Christoph Musa, the retired Minister of Defense, emphasized the importance of engaging with Turkey to address Nigeria's security needs.
