Air Peace to Launch Lagos-Barbados Flights in 2026

Air Peace, Nigeria's leading airline, will commence scheduled flights between Lagos and Barbados on May 24, 2026. This service aims to unlock significant economic opportunities by boosting trade and tourism between West Africa and the Caribbean.

The inaugural flight will utilize a Boeing 777 aircraft with a capacity of 315 passengers. Efeoghen Osifo Whiskei, a spokesperson for Air Peace, stated that the new route will simplify travel, addressing long-standing challenges such as multiple stopovers and complex visa requirements.

The airline plans to operate flights twice monthly, enhancing direct travel options for tourists, business travelers, and the diaspora. The launch has garnered support from the Barbadian government and the African Export-Import Bank, with a high-level forum held at Indigo Hotel in Barbados to celebrate the initiative.

Dignitaries present included Nowel Ngala and renowned Nigerian actress Temitop Olowoniyan, reflecting the importance of this development in strengthening cultural and economic ties between the regions.
