Air Peace Faces Flight Disruptions Due to Bird Strikes

Air Peace, Nigeria's leading airline, reported temporary flight disruptions across parts of its network following separate bird strike incidents involving two of its aircraft. The incidents occurred on flights P47868 operating from Lagos to Asaba and P47424 from Lagos to Kano.

Upon arrival, the aircraft that experienced the bird strikes were immediately withdrawn from service and returned to base in accordance with aviation safety procedures, which require mandatory technical inspections to assess engine damage. Bird strikes, which occur when birds collide with aircraft during flight operations, are common in Nigeria's aviation sector, particularly during certain weather conditions.

Air Peace has deployed alternative aircraft to reduce passenger inconvenience and stabilize its flight schedule. The airline apologized to affected passengers and reiterated that passenger safety remains its top priority.
