Jet Blast and Bird Strike Disrupt United Nigeria Flights

United Nigeria Airlines announced disruptions to its flight operations following two separate incidents involving a jet blast and a bird strike at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The airline reported that the incidents affected two of its aircraft, prompting the issuance of travel advisories on Sunday.

The jet blast occurred when multiple ground movements took place simultaneously, leading to a significant jet blast within the ramp area. This resulted in the displacement of ground equipment, which subsequently struck one of the airline's aircraft, causing damage to critical external components, including the antenna and forward fuselage area near the nose landing gear.

As a precaution, United Nigeria Airlines withdrew the affected aircraft from service for comprehensive inspection to adhere to strict safety standards. The airline emphasized its commitment to safety and operational integrity.
