Airtel Africa (AIRTELAFRI) Share Buyback: 927,533 Shares Cancelled

Airtel Africa Plc filed a Transaction in Own Shares disclosure on 18 August 2026, covering purchases made between 10 and 14 August 2026. The filing also announces an amendment to the company's existing buyback agreement with Barclays Capital Securities Limited, increasing the discretionary purchase limit by $15m.
Airtel Africa Plc disclosed that it purchased a total of 927,533 ordinary shares of USD 0.50 each between 10 August 2026 and 14 August 2026, through its appointed broker, Barclays Capital Securities Limited. The purchases were executed across multiple trading venues including the London Stock Exchange, BATS Europe, CHI-X Europe, Aquis Exchange, and Turquoise.
Daily purchase volumes ranged from a low of 26,499 shares on Thursday 13 August to a high of 499,275 shares on Monday 10 August. Volume-weighted average prices across the week ranged between 323.7478 GBp and 326.5127 GBp per share. All purchased shares are to be cancelled.
Since the buyback programme commenced on 22 May 2026, Airtel Africa has repurchased a cumulative total of 18,338,632 ordinary shares at a volume-weighted average price of 337.11 GBp per share.
Separately, the company announced an amendment to its buyback agreement with Barclays, increasing the maximum discretionary purchase limit by $15m — from $50m to $65m. The non-discretionary element of the agreement remains set at between $50m and $60m. The company states that the sole purpose of the buyback programme is to reduce its share capital.
