Aiyedatiwa Advocates for Oil Community Development Collaboration

During a stakeholder summit held in Igbokoda, Ondo State, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa called for collaboration to develop oil-producing communities in the state. He stressed that sustainable development can only be achieved when communities are fully involved in the decision-making process.

The summit, organized by the Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC), gathered community leaders and professionals from oil-producing areas to discuss development priorities. Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the necessity for stakeholder contributions to the 2026 budget, ensuring that it reflects the real needs of the people.

He commended OSOPADEC for engaging critical stakeholders ahead of the budget approach, reinforcing the belief in participatory governance. OSOPADEC Chairman Olabiyi Poroy noted that the summit aimed to achieve multiple objectives, including presenting a baseline development report and gathering stakeholder input.

He highlighted the need for broader collaboration to effectively address the challenges faced by less privileged communities.
