Ondo Governor Aiyedatiwa Donates N50m for Women's Empowerment

On Tuesday, Governor Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State announced a donation of N50 million aimed at empowering women across the state, including support for widows and the elderly.

This announcement was made during an event at the International Cultural Event Centre in Akure. The donation includes N10 million to commence the O Datiwa Women Cooperative Multipurpose Society, which is designed to expand access to finance and strengthen enterprises among women.

Aiyedatiwa emphasized the administration's commitment to promoting inclusivity and expanding opportunities for women in political and decision-making processes. The N50 million donation commemorates the year’s celebrations, with N40 million to be disbursed immediately as financial grants for women's empowerment, while the remaining N10 million will be allocated for the official launch of the cooperative society.

Dr. Seun Osamay, the state commissioner for women and social development, highlighted the administration's focus on uplifting women socially, economically, and politically, ensuring that no woman is left behind.
