Ajayi Upsets World Champion Seville at Prefontaine Classic

At the Prefontaine Classic held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, 20-year-old Nigerian sprinter Ajayi stunned world champion Seville from Jamaica by winning the men's 100m race with a time of 9.84 seconds, equaling his own Nigerian national record. Seville finished second with a time of 9.89 seconds, while American star Kenneth Bednarek took third place with a time of 9.95 seconds.

Ajayi's impressive performance further solidified his status as one of the fastest men in the world this season. In the women's 100m hurdles, Nigeria's Tobi Amusan delivered a strong performance, finishing second with a time of 12.34 seconds, behind American Masai Russell, who clocked a world-leading time of 12.24 seconds.

Bahamian Devynn Charlton finished third with a time of 12.41 seconds. In the men's 400m, Nigerian quarter miler Ezekiel Nathaniel finished eighth with a time of 45.32 seconds, while Botswana's Busang Collen Kebinatshipi claimed victory with a personal best of 44.00 seconds.
