Akwa Ibom Government Rejects Claims Against Udom Emmanuel

The Akwa Ibom State Government has refuted claims made by Senator John Udoedehe, the African Democratic Congress governorship candidate, that Governor Umo Eno reported former Governor Udom Emmanuel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Udoedehe alleged during a media briefing that Eno provided information leading to the EFCC's action against Emmanuel’s property in Victoria Island, Lagos.

In response, Commissioner for Information Aniekan Umanah stated that Eno has never reported Emmanuel or anyone else to the EFCC, emphasizing that such actions are inconsistent with Eno's conduct and relationship with former leaders. The government described Udoedehe's allegations as false and reckless, aimed at inciting public tension.

Umanah highlighted that Eno has retained many individuals from Emmanuel's administration and continued projects initiated by previous governors, countering the narrative of animosity.
