Eno Denies Seizing Emmanuel's House Amid Election Tensions

Pastor Umo Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, has denied allegations of a conflict with his predecessor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, as he seeks reelection in the 2027 general elections. The claims were made by Senator John James Akpanudoehe, the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), who accused Eno of using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to target Emmanuel, who played a significant role in Eno's rise to governorship in 2023.

Eno refuted these allegations, asserting he has never reported Emmanuel to the EFCC. The Information Commissioner, Dr. Aniekan Umanah, supported Eno's statement, labeling the accusations as unfounded.

Akpanudoehe also criticized Eno's administration for alleged mismanagement of over 2 trillion Naira received since its inception and for delays in the Ibom Deep Seaport project. He described Eno's government as lacking sincerity and accused it of operating an "apartheid government.".
