Akwa Ibom Unveils 2025 Sports Festival to Empower Youth and Boost Tourism

The Akwa Ibom State Government has unveiled plans for the 2025 State Sports Festival aimed at promoting youth empowerment, tourism, and sports development. Scheduled to take place from September 8 to 13, 2025, across various venues in the state, the event will feature 18 sporting disciplines, including athletics, swimming, wrestling, and more.

The festival, part of Governor Umo Eno's ARISE Agenda, seeks to discover talent, promote sport tourism, and empower the youth. The competition will also include a Unity Torch Relay across the state's federal constituencies.

This initiative positions Akwa Ibom as a key player in the global sports arena.
