Al-Makura Critiques Sule's Candidate Presentation to Tinubu

Tanko Al-Makura, the former governor of Nasarawa State, publicly criticized the current governor, Abdullahi Sule, for presenting Wadada as a candidate to President Bola Tinubu. Al-Makura argued that Sule's actions were an aberration and a violation of due process, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) had not yet released guidelines for candidate selection.

He emphasized that while Sule is entitled to prefer a successor, he must adhere to the established procedures. Al-Makura's remarks were made during an appearance on Channels Television's Politics Today on Wednesday.

He highlighted that Sule's endorsement of Wadada, who is being considered for the Nasarawa West Senate seat in the 2027 governorship election, was hasty and lacked proper consultation with stakeholders both within and outside the state. Governor Sule had accompanied state officials to Abuja for a meeting with President Tinubu, where he presented Wadada as his choice.
