Alausa Urges NANS to Mobilize 10M Votes for Tinubu

Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, called on the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and other student leaders to mobilize 10 million votes for President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027 during a meeting in Abuja. Alausa emphasized that students have a direct stake in the upcoming election due to the impact of government policies on student financing, skills development, infrastructure, and future employment opportunities.

He noted that President Tinubu has shown a strong commitment to improving the welfare of young Nigerians through various educational interventions, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which has committed about N200 billion and benefited over 1.6 million students. Alausa also mentioned ongoing investments in student accommodation, technical and vocational education (TVET), campus transportation, and renewable energy projects aimed at enhancing the educational environment.

He assured that the monthly upkeep allowance for beneficiaries would continue and highlighted the government's efforts to address challenges affecting students' academic progress.
