ALGON Deputy Chair Clashes with Critic Over Governor's Integrity

The Deputy Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Enugu State, Ugo Ferdinand Ukwuez, has strongly rebutted criticism from Kennedy Iyere towards Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. Ukwuez denounced Iyere's attacks as baseless and questioned his credibility, pointing to ongoing investigations into alleged improprieties involving NIYEEDep, a program coordinated by Iyere.

Ukwuez defended Governor Mbah's financial integrity, citing verified asset declarations with the Code of Conduct Bureau. He cautioned Iyere against using hate speech and urged restraint in public statements.

Ukwuez highlighted inconsistencies in Iyere's previous support for Governor Mbah during the 2023 elections, emphasizing the need for constructive engagement rather than smear campaigns.
