Alia Launches Committee to Restructure Benue MDAs

On a recent date, Governor Hyacinth Alia inaugurated a committee aimed at restructuring the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of Benue State to enhance efficiency and improve service delivery. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Government House in Makurdi.

Governor Alia tasked the committee with reviewing the existing mandates of the MDAs, which include ministries, bureaus, and commissions, as well as government-owned companies. The committee is expected to recommend appropriate alignments and effective supervision of these agencies.

Deputy Governor Barr. Sam Od will head the committee, which will also examine the roles of political appointees and special advisers to identify and address overlapping functions within the system.

The governor emphasized the urgency of the assignment, aiming to restore standard operating procedures and strengthen institutional values while enhancing the quality of personnel and optimizing civil service performance. The committee is expected to submit its report within two months.
