Benue Governor Alia Partners NCDC to Combat Insecurity

Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Governor of Benue State, urged the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) to collaborate closely with his administration to tackle insecurity and promote development across the state. Speaking at the Old Banquet Hall of the Government House in Makurdi, Governor Alia highlighted that restoring peace and resettling displaced persons are top priorities for his government.

He noted significant progress in reducing insecurity in many local government areas and emphasized the need to continue these efforts. Governor Alia pointed out that the people of Benue deserve peace and can contribute to national food security.

He also stressed the importance of strengthening agricultural value chains to meet growing demands, indicating that rural development is a priority in the state’s budget. Acknowledging past neglect, he stated that progress would take time and called for the NCDC's support.
