Alia Suspends SUBEB Chairman, Others

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has suspended three government officials based on recommendations from the State House Assembly. The suspended officials are Grace Adagba, the chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Maxwell Ogiri, the chairman of Otukpo local government area, and Michael Uper, the executive secretary of the Benue State Lottery Commission.

The suspensions are effective immediately for one month each. Governor Alia emphasized his commitment to the rule of law, due process, and the separation of powers.

He urged the affected institutions to ensure seamless continuity of service delivery during this period. The State House Assembly had previously recommended the suspension of government officials for six months, and the governor has acted on these recommendations.
