Kaduna Governor Confirms Rescue of All 183 Abduction Victims in Kurmin Wali

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has announced the successful rescue of all 183 victims abducted in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru Local Government Area. The victims were initially seized on January 18 during a worship service, with the kidnappers eventually releasing them in stages.

Eleven individuals were freed earlier and taken to the hospital, followed by 83 victims returning a few days ago, and the final batch of 89 rescued on Thursday morning. Governor Sani expressed relief for the affected families and thanked President Bola Tinubu and others for their involvement in the rescue efforts.

He revealed plans to establish a military base along the Kajuru-Kachia axis, describing it as a long-standing security flashpoint. The state government has also initiated infrastructure interventions in Kurmin Wali, including the construction of access roads, a hospital, and a skills acquisition center to support post-abduction recovery and community development.

The rescued victims will receive medical and psychosocial care before being reunited with their families, emphasizing the importance of ongoing support for security personnel facing daily risks in defending the community.
