ICPC Witness Claims Nnaji's Certificates Are Forged

During a court session on Monday, a witness from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, SP Yakubu Ibrahim, testified before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik at the Federal High Court in Abuja regarding former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Geoffrey Uche Nnaji. Ibrahim stated that both the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) disowned certificates attributed to Nnaji.
The investigation was prompted by two petitions alleging certificate forgery against him. The NYSC confirmed that the certificate in question was not issued by them, while UNN indicated that Nnaji did not meet the required grades for his BSc in Microbiology and Biochemistry.
Nnaji failed at two examination stages and did not sit for a third due to medical reasons. The court was informed that Nnaji received N29.5 million in salary as a minister before resigning.
Nnaji failed to respond to the commission's invitation, leading to his arrest by the Department of State Services on July 1.
