Alleged Coup Plot Uncovered in Nigeria Involving Air Force Officer Detailed to Kill Senior Official

An alleged coup plot against President Bola Tinubu's government in Nigeria was uncovered, involving an Air Force officer, Squadron Leader SB Adamu, who was detailed to kill a senior government official, Ribadu. The officer was recently posted to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) but was suspected of being part of the coup plot.

The plot was revealed when Major General Adamu Garba Laka, the coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC), requested specific postings at the center in August 2025. The coup plot was reportedly foiled, and there have been recent changes in the military leadership.
